Big Red Shipping and Storage
Big Red Shipping & Storage (BRSS) is a business that addresses two primary needs of Cornell Students. First, we are an authorized shipping center for Federal Express. We offer competitive rates for Ground, Express and International Shipping. Second, we own and operate a climate controlled storage facility for student’s personal belongings. BRSS was founded in 1986 with the mission of being the leading high-end provider of quality shipping and storage services to the Cornell and Ithaca College student population and has successfully operated ever since.
In 2003, we secured Preferred Vendor status with Cornell Campus Life, making BRSS the exclusive on campus provider of storage and shipping.
BRSS is a cyclical business. There are three peak periods – May peak, August drop-off season and December peak. May peak is the busiest season for BRSS due to the large number of students leaving Cornell for the summer, therefore creating a strong demand for shipping and storage services. During this period, BRSS has 2 General Managers and 3-4 assistant managers and 75-100 employees.
