Joining Student Agencies is a four-step process designed to get to know you and your potential to contribute to our team:
Apply Online – Submit your application for the position listed below. We require a resume and a few basic details to get started.
First-Round Interview – Meet with a member of our management team for a behavioral interview. We’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, and what you’ll bring to Student Agencies.
Second-Round Case Study – Tackle a business-related case study to showcase your problem-solving and decision-making. No prior business experience or special preparation is required—we’re simply interested in how you think and explain your choices.
Conversation with our CEO – Discuss your fit, goals, and commitment to Student Agencies before joining our team.
OUR POSITIONS
Our manager positions offer Cornell students the chance to run real businesses and make impactful decisions from day one. You’ll gain hands-on experience in leadership, strategy, and operations while building skills that last a lifetime.

General Managers (GMs)
The Cornellian General Manager role is open to current Cornell freshmen, sophomores, and juniors and carries responsibility for the operational and financial health of the official Cornell yearbook. The manager works 15 to 20 hours per week and takes a hands-on role across the full lifecycle, from idea generation through customer delivery.
Core duties include managing relationships with students, parents, alumni, campus partners, and external vendors while serving as the primary point of contact for questions and concerns. The position oversees sales performance, budgeting, and fiscal outcomes, with regular financial reporting in weekly business meetings. The manager also leads marketing, advertising, and sales strategy, including building a yearlong creative theme, coordinating campaigns, and presenting results to the board. Social media management forms a key part of the role, with a focus on growing reach and driving sales through strategic promotion.
Day-to-day expectations include strong communication habits, deadline discipline, organized record keeping, and active participation across Student Agencies Inc. The ideal candidate brings a business mindset, strong people skills, creativity, and a willingness to test new ideas in service of long-term growth.
Editor-in-Chief (EIC)
The Cornellian Editor-in-Chief role is open to current Cornell freshmen, sophomores, and juniors and offers full creative ownership over the vision and production of the yearbook. The EIC works 10 to 15 hours per week in the office, with added time during deadline periods, and leads an editorial staff of roughly 10 to 15 students. The position oversees hiring, delegation, and team development while setting the creative direction and maintaining thematic coherence across the book.Core responsibilities include building the full page ladder, assigning copy and photography, producing exemplar designs, and enforcing strong communication and accountability across the team. The EIC holds final responsibility for proofreading and quality control, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail before submission. The role also manages the relationship with Jostens, meets all production deadlines, and communicates early when risks arise. Ongoing duties include collaborating with general managers on ads and financial outcomes, handling customer communication, and reporting progress in weekly leadership meetings. The ideal candidate brings strong design skills, organization, and creative judgment, along with the ability to lead a team and execute a complex project from concept to print.

We have an expansive network of successful alumni, who remain interested in the welfare and future of SAI. Though our alumni are leaders in a variety of different fields, one thing they all agree upon is that SAI was the most valuable part of their experience as Cornellians.
